Biography


Cullen Wegman is an artist currently living in Reno, NV where he is a MFA candidate in Interdisciplinary Studio Art at the University of Nevada, Reno. He graduated with his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramics from The College at Brockport, SUNY in 2014. Working across disciplines, Cullen creates artwork that engages socio-political discourse. His artwork is often polemic, and deconstructs popular US cultural narratives, norms, and mythologies - especially those related to constructions of masculinity and whiteness. Cullen is also actively engaged in social justice and protest. His artwork has been featured nationally and internationally in galleries, public spaces, and publications; and, he has been employed in various art related positions - most recently as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at UNR, and Part-time Adjunct Faculty Member at Truckee Meadows Community College.
